Suggested Itinerary

We recommend visitors begin their tour at the WWII Japanese American Internment Museum in McGehee, Arkansas.  Hours for the museum are Thursday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5.  Children under 12, along with college and school groups, are free.

.

Since very little of the original camp remains today, a trip through the museum offers the necessary background for a site visit. From there visitors can travel to the site of the former Rohwer Japanese American Relocation Center, open during daylight hours only. There is parking for buses on the gravel road into the site, as well as for private vehicles. There are no facilities at the site.
Note: If you are entering the Rohwer Japanese American Internment Center into Google Maps, you will need to refer to it as “Rohwer Relocation Center Memorial Cemetery.”
